This choir performance of "Zaj Npau Suav" moved me deeply.

Every year, Hmong Minnesota Student Association - HMSA Love hosts Heritage Day. It's a powerful 3+ hour-long theatre production that sheds light on some of our community's most challenging issues. In 2018, I was so uncomfortable AND empowered by their captivating show; it showed me just how authentic HMSA's love and passion for the Hmong community is.

With that said, this 2011-2012 performance of "Zaj Npau Suav" is one I wished I had seen in person. Thank you to HMSA and this beautiful choir! ❤️

Beyond music, Pagnia is an accomplished actor, making her main stage debut with Theater Mu to critical acclaim. She recently headlined her first solo concert at the Ordway and launched a Hmong Music Mentorship program in 2025.
